Two weighty things. One school.
إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ كِتَابَ اللهِ وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي
“I leave among you two weighty things: the Book of God and my family, the people of my house.”
Thaqalayn Academy is a full-time Shia Islamic school for Silicon Valley families, built on mastery learning, the Qur'an and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt. Its learning platform, Mizan, is built to serve schools and weekend madrasas everywhere.

A school and a platform, each strengthening the other
Thaqalayn Academy
Mastery academics in the morning with guides at 1:12. Qur'an and Islamic studies with in-person teachers before Dhuhr. Afternoon workshops from public speaking and majlis recitation to coding and archery.
The school model →Mizan ميزان
The learning platform that weighs every minute: mastery academics, Qur'an and Islamic studies in one place. A hint-only AI tutor that answers from scholar-approved sources, a Qur'an memorisation map, and a live board for every guide.
How Mizan works →A community ready for its own school
Muslim children in full-time Islamic schools
~235 schools, ~32,000 students (2011, the latest national study)[6]
Full-time Shia schools exist in Houston, Dearborn, Toronto and London. We found none in the Bay Area.[7][8][9] The full case →
Technology with a teacher in the room
The research is clear on one point: AI helps when it is designed to teach and when adults stay close. A hint-based tutor raised practice scores 127% with no exam harm, while a plain chatbot cut exam scores 17%.[28] AI sessions with a teacher present added 0.3 SD in six weeks.[29]
So our guides stay in the room at 1:12, Qur'an teachers teach in person, and Mizan's tutor gives hints, never answers.
