Mizan weighs every minute of learning
The learning platform that weighs every minute: mastery academics, Qur'an and Islamic studies in one place. Built first for Thaqalayn Academy, then for weekend madrasas, Islamic schools and families.
Status PRD, clickable prototype and a tested production codebase.
What's inside
Minutes that count
1 XP = 1 focused minute, with a 120 XP daily goal.
Daily rings
Rings for academics plus dedicated Qur'an and Islamic-studies rings.
Mastery, then review
Mastery at 90% with spaced review; work stays in the 70–85% difficulty band.
Waste detection
Spots idling, rushing, guessing, skipped explanations and off-plan work, then nudges with a coach prompt.
Qur'an memorisation map
Recorded recitation with teacher review, surah by surah.
Guide live board
Every student's state at a glance, so guides know who needs them now.
Parent view
Progress, rings and recitation in one place, with a Hijri calendar.
Guarded AI tutor
Answers only from scholar-approved sources, with citations, and never issues fatwas.
Open standards
Connects to Timeback and other apps through OneRoster, Caliper and LTI.
Designed around the evidence
A plain chatbot raised practice scores but cut exam scores by 17%; a tutor that gave hints instead of answers raised practice 127% with no exam harm.[28] Mizan's tutor gives hints, cites its sources and never issues fatwas.
AI that coaches the adult also works: tutor coaching raised mastery by 4 points, and by 9 for weaker tutors.[30] That is why Mizan includes a live board and coach prompts for guides.
